Fun day trip to the island of Videy, a short ferry ride from Reykjavik. The island no longer has inhabitants but wonderful walking trials, a very peaceful place to share with the birds. There are 2 permanent art installations on the island, one is by Yoko One, The Imagine Peace tower which shoots up a beam of light on John's birth/death day. The other, pictured below, is a series of Stone sculptures by artist Richard Sierra.
Came across a giant random rhubarb plant mid island and decided to pick a knapsack full and smuggle it back to London!
This is the interior of the Videy Church, built in 1774, the oldest in Iceland
Pristine seaweed on the shores.

This is one the inscribed stones on the island.
Much of the landscape looks moon like.
Blue Lagoon. A geothermal man made spa. One the most surreal places I have ever been. Bleak moonscape, pale whiteish blueish silica bottom pond, steam rising, fog , torsos walking in the water, some with white mud silica masks. On the perimeter there are stacks billowing extra thermal heat and security guards in bright green vests watching over things.
